If you’re new to SavingStar, it is incredibly easy to use and a great way to save some extra money on your grocery purchases. It is very similar to Upromise (affiliate link to Upromise here!), but has different options for cashing out. I recommend signing up for both programs, because some coupons are only available with one or the other and you only have to scan your loyalty card once. Unfortunately, you can’t “clip” the same coupon on both programs.

To use your new SavingStar account, just shop like you normally do and have the cashier scan your loyalty card (check with customer service to get one and add it your SavingStar account once) before you pay. Your total at the register won’t change and your reciept won’t show anything, but the amount of coupons you used will be transferred into your SavingStar account and you can cash out once you hit $5.
