At first glance it seems like an amazing program. You get to try TWO free trials. You can choose a free discovery kit of Diapers and Wipes and/or our Essentials. Pay only $4.95 for shipping and handling. Sounds great, right? Well, as a “deal blogger” there are rules as to what I am and am not allowed to say when I’m promoting someone. In this case, The Honest Company is willing to pay me to get you to sign up only I can’t tell you how to cancel or that you have SEVEN days to do so or you will be charged $84.90 for the diaper pack & $39.90 for the Family Essentials.
I have signed up myself to try out the service before hand & wasn’t very satisfied. The twins woke up completely soaked through when we tried the diapers overnight, but were fine during the day. You only get 7 diapers, so the trial doesn’t give you a chance to really see how well they work. The Family Essentials pack is fine, although the smells are a little strange compared to what I’m used to.
The part that makes me REALLY angry and why you will never see me promote The Honest Company again is how misleading they are. I originally had the disclaimer below but they have to approve each post first & that is “encouraging” you to cancel. I’m also not allowed to tell you that you can only cancel by phone Monday through Friday (7am to 5 pm Pacific time).

UPDATE: After speaking with a representative for almost 20 minutes, I have come to the conclusion that The Honest Company may not have considered how their cancellation policy or marketing campaigns appear. Their reasoning for only allowing you to cancel by phone is because they need feedback as to why people want to cancel and email doesn’t allow that. I did get transferred from a support rep to a supervisor and was asked for my concerns both as a consumer and a blogger. I hope to see some of the changes I suggested (cancellation via embedded form with space for cancellation reason, 2 week trial, clear instructions on how to cancel, etc) implemented. If they were to do so, I may find myself willing to promote or use them again. For now, I’ll stay far away.
